Hey monkeys,Don't forget that today is PERcY's Pick up a Piece of Trash Day!
Thats right, if you're walking home from school, or riding your bike to your friend's house and see a piece of trash laying on the ground, please pick it up and put it in the trash bin. But if it's plastic, be sure to recycle it! :)
Every little bit counts to help keep our environment clean! Also, once you have picked up a piece of trash, leave a comment on this post and let us know you have done it! We would love to see how many monkeys have helped the environment!

Hey monkeys, Guess what today is world environment day, a day all about being green. To celebrate it lets see what one of our MM players "MoniMini" had to say!
Yo Monkeys! MoniMini here!
What’s up? Did you realize something was in the air last weekend? The title says it all! Yes, we celebrated World Environment Day (WED) on June 5!
The whole world was abuzz with green activities, from planting small saplings at home to organizing big ‘Plantathons’: green rallies which spread the message of sustainability. So here are a few tidbits about this grand event-
-- WED is run by the United Nations and began in 1972.
-- WED is a day for people to create a better planet for themselves and future generations.
-- WED is hosted every year by a different city. The city for this year was India and the theme was: Forests: Nature At Your Service.Forests cover about one-third of the Earth’s land mass, and all of us depend on them for our survival. They are important to protect us fromclimate change, by releasing oxygen into the atmosphere and storing carbon dioxide.
Thousands of eco-activities were organized for WED! And what about ME? I couldn't have just fooled around while the world was buzzing with environmental activities!Here’s what I was 'supposed' to do: I had planned that we would buy a sapling tree that day. We decided to visit the nursery in the afternoon but just 2 hours prior to that, strong winds started blowing and there was a storm. Trees were falling, metal roofcoverings were even flying in the air!
But that won’t stop me from getting my sapling! We will go to the nursery this Sunday and buy the sapling, then plant it. I’ll keep you posted, monkeys!
Though the WED has already passed, you monkeys can still participate to protect the environment, maybe through an EcoMonkey project, like the one I did!So what are you gonna do? Comment and let us know!

Hey monkeys! It's another activity during the week that MiniMonos has, that's right, the Weekly Wonder! Last week you were asked if you could adopt any pet what would it be? Check out what Wohoo said!

It's that time of the week where I ask you monkeys a question and you leave a comment with your answer. Last week I asked, "If you could have any animal as a pet... what would it be and why?". Wohoo said: If I could choose any pet to have it would be a rainbow ninja flying unicorn! When I was younger I would always dream of flying and my unicorn would do just that, help me fly :)
Haha that's very cool Wohoo! If I had a pet unicorn that could fly then I would use it to fly to poor countires and give hungry children food :). This week we want to know: Lots of monkeys are starting their summer vacation soon... do you have any big eco activites you want to complete over the summer? If so, what are they?

Hey monkeys! We haven't had an Einstein's Eco-Fact Episode for a bit, so check out the 2nd episode sent in by Snelly!
Hey Monkeys! Do you know about the largest ever solar-powered boat, which was designed in New Zealand? It's looking to be the first of it's kind to circumnavigate the world just using solar power!
This boat can go up to 200 kilometers a day and I think this boat is really cool because it's very environmentally friendly and it uses clean energy with 540 square meters of solar panels!! Check it out:
Did you know that this huge boat can run on just 20 kilowatts? That's about the same electricity to light 200 light bulbs! How bananamazing!! The rest of the solar energy captured, is stored in batteries to use later.
I think there could be more solar-powered devices in the future… do you?

Hey monkeys! So last week, for the Minimonos Weekly Wonder, we wanted to know what Eco Activities you do at home. So here's what a special monkey said:
Hey Monkeys! Last week we talked about Eco Friendly activies you do at home and lots of you monkeys had some amazingly cool things you do to help the enviornment! Check out what Angie6392 said: I do a lot of things at home!! I definitely recycle all my recyclables and throw away all my trash. I also make sure that, when my family puts recyclables in the wrong recycling bin, that I put it back in the right bin. I recycle at school to! I also conserve water by not leaving the water on when brushing my teeth. I also save power by turning off the lights when I don't need it.
That is sooooo bananatastic Angie!! This week we want to know: What's your favorite clothing item on MiniMonos and why?

Hey monkeys! Here is an OFFICIAL MiniMonos pick up trash contest, run by PERcY!
Hey monkeys, Since Minimonos has released EcoMonkeys and launched out of Beta, I thought it would be great to have another Pick up Trash contest! What I want you to do is come up with an idea on how something can keep the environment clean. Yes, it seems like a piece of cake, but there are some requirements:
- Your idea must be original.
- Your idea can be a "long-term" idea. For example, in the future we could possibly build transformers that can drive around and pick up trash all day long.
- Your idea must be CREATIVE! Take some time and think it out...the more you think it out the better chance of you winning this contest! :)
- You can only submit two ideas maximum. Submit your ideas on this post by commenting on this post with your idea AND your monkey name! Next Friday, I will then announce the winners! Oh, I almost forgot, the prizes are... 1st Place: 25 SHELLS 2nd Place: 15 SHELLS 3rd Place: 10 SHELLS
Have fun with this contest! Remember, be creative! Your ideas can be totally wacky... and you can make your ideas something that could possibly benefit the environment in the present or future!
